• The Low Lands

This surprising design has been inspired by the Dutch history, in particular the founding father of The Netherlands; William I, Prince of Orange. It’s a modern version of a classic 16th century wheelbarrow and has got unique measurements based on the dates of William of Orange’s turbulent life. The length, for example, is 153,3 meter, which refers to his year of birth 1533.The fact that the desk is moveable reflects on William’s life on the run as being declared an outlaw. Referring to the gothic architectural period in which William was living the design of the desk is minimalistic.
This piece is the first of a collection based on Dutch history.
